About the role#
As an intern on the Human Resources team, you will gain hands-on experience supporting payroll administration and daily HR operations. Your primary focus includes assisting with payroll processing, reviewing timekeeping data, maintaining records, and answering routine employee questions. You will also support various HR projects and departmental activities. This role offers exposure to multiple areas of HR while you collaborate with experienced professionals.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and process payroll data following established schedules and procedures.
- Review timekeeping records for accuracy and proper authorization.
- Help research and resolve routine payroll discrepancies.
- Maintain organized payroll records in line with confidentiality requirements.
- Assist with audits, reconciliations, and data validation.
- Provide customer service for routine associate inquiries.
- Support HR data entry and record maintenance in internal systems.
- Protect sensitive employee information and follow HR policies.
- Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines on various projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an associate, bachelor, or master degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and follow established processes.
- A customer-focused approach and willingness to learn.
- Previous experience in an office, administrative, or customer service role is a plus.
- Coursework or demonstrated interest in payroll, accounting, or HR operations.
- Experience working with spreadsheets or data entry systems.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site in Neenah, Wisconsin.
- This is a paid, year-round internship.
- During the school year, this role is part-time, typically 15 to 20 hours per week, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- During summer and school breaks, the schedule may increase up to 40 hours per week.
