About the role#
As a Trade Floor Technology Consultant, you will provide technical support and consulting for computer and technology issues on the Scotiabank trade floor. You will join the Trade Floor Support and Automation team to help maintain and improve the technology that powers our capital markets operations. This is a full-time, paid internship or co-op position for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Analyze technical issues and resolve, escalate, or redirect them to the appropriate channels.
- Implement and maintain trading technologies, including Bloomberg terminals.
- Configure and support mobile devices such as laptops, iPhones, and tablets.
- Contribute to projects involving data analysis, analytics, and new technology initiatives.
- Develop in-house web-based tools to optimize trade floor processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program, such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience troubleshooting computer applications and handling hardware in a Windows 10 environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and professional standards.
- A strong desire to learn new concepts and work with energy.
- Knowledge of web or database programming like HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, or C# is an asset.
- Familiarity with network administration, computer hardware, and wireless technologies is also helpful.

- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2027 (12 or 16 months).
- Commitment: 37.5 hours per week.
