About the role#
Interns support service delivery at SCO Family of Services by participating in program activities that complement their placement. This role provides field experience focused on engagement, assessment, interviewing, and basic casework. Interns receive weekly supervision from a SIFI certified or appropriately credentialed staff member and have the opportunity to attend relevant internal and external seminars and workshops.
What you'll do#
- Engage with department staff to learn about special needs, treatment options, and behavioral approaches.
- Observe and participate in program functions to gain exposure to services.
- Improve skills in assessment, oral and written communication, and engagement.
- Complete administrative tasks associated with placement functions.
- Adhere to all program regulations, policies, and procedures while maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program related to Psychology, Public Health, Nursing, Human Resources, Criminal Justice, or Sociology.
- A strong desire to learn about special needs and treatment options.
- Flexibility to accommodate program needs.
- Ability to maintain strict privacy and confidentiality.
