About the role#
As a Product Development Intern, you will provide technical support and execute projects within our research and development team. You will apply scientific and engineering principles to the production, quality control, and processing of food products. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a food manufacturing environment while working under the supervision of experienced team members.
What you'll do#
- Execute experiments in the laboratory and pilot plant using established procedures.
- Conduct sensory evaluations, including Descriptive, Discrimination, and Acceptability tests.
- Implement training for descriptive panels to support product evaluations.
- Learn techniques to improve food quality, including flavor, texture, color, and nutritional value.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and manage product and process specifications.
- Evaluate food products, packaging, and processes under test conditions.
- Consult with internal experts in marketing, quality systems, and process engineering to resolve project issues.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in food science, food process engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (must have junior status or above).
- Proficiency in MS Office, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to present technical information clearly to colleagues and peers.
- Strong capacity to interpret technical instructions provided in mathematical or diagram form.
- A valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and a personal vehicle.
