About the role#
This is a paid, full-time co-op position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work under the direct supervision of designers and engineers to develop your technical skills through standard CAD tasks and design projects. This role involves both office-based design work and field investigations.
What you'll do#
- Perform conventional designs, investigations, and surveys using standard procedures.
- Prepare sketches and drawings based on architectural plans.
- Input mechanical and electrical work from freehand sketches.
- Locate outlets and devices following detailed layouts.
- Maintain files for blueprints and catalogs.
- Apply standard practices to recognize discrepancies and follow design steps.
What you'll need#
- A minimum of a High School or Technical School diploma.
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or Architecture program.
- Ability to use hands for handling tools and controls.
- Physical ability to lift or move objects up to twenty pounds.
- Comfort using a ladder and working at heights of up to 20 feet.
- Access to personal transportation for travel to job sites for field investigations.

- This role is based on-site in either Rochester or Buffalo, New York.
- The position is for the Winter 2027 term.
