About the role#
As an Acoustics Engineering Intern, you will work under the direction of a senior acoustics consultant. You will gain exposure to project work across diverse environments, including education, sports, performing arts, entertainment, government, residential, and corporate markets.
What you'll do#
- Perform acoustical analyses and field testing, such as sound transmission loss, reverberation time, and environmental noise.
- Conduct research and generate documentation for design projects, including calculations and detailed drawings.
- Develop and apply acoustical modeling.
- Coordinate with design team members on acoustical design details.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to build technical solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Engineering, Acoustics, Audio Engineering, or a related field.
- A drive to learn and contribute to projects within the AEC industry.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and a readiness to perform duties on-site or at project locations.
- Proficiency in software tools such as CAD (AutoCAD, Revit), audio simulation, or acoustic modeling is helpful.
- Previous internship or co-op experience in the AEC industry is a plus, but not required.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship located on-site in Boulder, Colorado.
- The term for this role is Summer 2027.
