The TO Leadership Intern program provides students with hands-on experience in tribal operations, gaming, and other business ventures. Interns work under the supervision of the Youth Leadership Manager to gain the skills necessary for future leadership roles within the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. This program is designed to align on-the-job experience with the academic goals of students pursuing degrees in Business Administration, Political Science, or Sociology.
What you'll do#
- Intern within Tribal Operations or other tribal enterprises, working alongside department directors and supervisors to gain managerial experience.
- Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Participate in cultural and academic professional development opportunities.
- Perform duties relevant to your specific department placement.
- Comply with all policies, procedures, and confidentiality regulations of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe.
- Maintain full-time academic enrollment (at least 12 credit hours for undergraduates or 9 for graduates) and a cumulative 2.5 GPA.
What you'll need#
- Must be a Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Member.
- Currently enrolled as a full-time college student with at least 12 completed credit hours or one year of the SCIT Youth Co-Op program.
- Minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA.
- Ability to pass a background check for employment eligibility.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and strong communication skills.
- Must submit an official transcript and class schedule during the recruitment process.
