About the role#
SageSure is hiring a Software Engineer Intern for the Rising Pioneer Program. This 10-week program offers hands-on experience within our Software Engineering team. You will work on projects that provide insight into our business operations and contribute to our software solutions. Interns are often considered for post-graduation roles.
What you'll do#
- Write, review, and troubleshoot code with a focus on Java-based development.
- Support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications.
- Collaborate with Software Engineers and Product Managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, and the software development lifecycle.
- Assist in identifying and resolving software defects.
- Contribute to the development of scalable and maintainable software.
- Learn and apply engineering best practices, including source control and agile methodologies.
- Participate in team meetings and technical discussions.
- Provide research and analysis support on ad-hoc projects.
- Receive coaching, mentoring, and feedback from team members.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a degree program for Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Anticipated graduation date in 2028.
- Foundational programming knowledge and experience with Java.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming and software development fundamentals.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with technical and non-technical team members.
- Problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Preferred: Prior internship or technical project experience, a 3.0 GPA or higher, and familiarity with Git, SQL, databases, or cloud technologies.

- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- The role is remote.
- We are hiring for locations in Chicago, Illinois; Jersey City, New Jersey; and Mountain View, California.
