About the role#

S&B is seeking an Intern, Naval Architect to join the team in New Orleans, Louisiana. This role involves performing routine assignments under the supervision of senior engineers and naval architects. You will contribute to marine projects by applying standard design techniques and procedures while gaining practical experience in the engineering and marine industry.

What you'll do#

• Assist and support senior engineers and naval architects with daily tasks.
• Conduct design reviews and resolve technical issues.
• Manage information generated throughout the design and construction phases of concurrent projects.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to develop and deliver successful projects.
• Maintain compliance with company safety, environmental, quality assurance, and security programs.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Completion of at least two years of undergraduate engineering studies.
• Working knowledge of computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment.
• Ability to work and remain in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Previous internship experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 pounds, standing, walking, and climbing.
