About the role#
This internship position provides an opportunity to support senior engineers and naval architects at S&B. You will perform routine assignments using standard design techniques and procedures under direct supervision. This role is based in a business office environment and requires daily, face-to-face interaction with a multi-disciplinary team to support the development and delivery of marine engineering projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist and support senior engineers and naval architects with daily tasks.
- Perform design reviews and resolve technical issues.
- Manage information generated during the design and construction phases of multiple concurrent projects.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver successful projects.
- Follow all company safety, environmental, quality assurance, and security programs.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate engineering studies.
- Working knowledge of computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts including geometry, trigonometry, and statistics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, write routine reports, and communicate effectively.
- Eligibility to work and remain in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Previous internship experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to meet physical demands including standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
