About the role#
Rutgers University is seeking a Student Assistant to join the Department of Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. This role supports clinical, biomedical, computational, and translational research activities. You will work alongside faculty, investigators, clinicians, and research staff to assist with research studies, clinical trials, and the development of new research tools.
What you'll do#
- Collect, manage, analyze, and visualize research data.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, databases, web-based applications, and digital research platforms.
- Integrate artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies into research workflows.
- Assist with participant recruitment, screening, informed consent procedures, and study documentation.
- Design and maintain user interfaces, backend services, and APIs.
- Deploy and maintain applications using cloud-based services.
- Test and improve research tools while maintaining project documentation.
- Prepare technical documentation to support presentations and publications.
- Organize and verify the accuracy of study-related documents and materials.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program or higher in computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, biology, biomedical sciences, biomedical engineering, or public health.
- Academic or project experience in software development, data analysis, data management, or biomedical research.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and clear communication abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information and follow privacy and security requirements.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and research methods.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, R, or SQL is preferred.
- Familiarity with web-based applications, databases, data visualization, or cloud-based services.
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence tools, statistical analysis, or research workflow development.
- Experience with clinical research documentation, research ethics, or regulatory requirements is a plus.
