About the role#
Royal Electric Company is seeking an Estimating Intern for our Dallas office. This internship takes place during the Summer of 2027. You will work directly with our estimating team to gain hands-on experience and support real-world construction projects. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Read project plans and perform quantity takeoffs.
- Review technical specifications to identify project requirements.
- Build bills of materials to assist with vendor quotes.
- Conduct outreach to sub-contractors and vendors.
- Coordinate with the lead estimator to track bid progress.
- Learn the full estimating life cycle from experienced professionals.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively within the estimating department.
- Experience working in team environments.
- Comfort with a desk-based role.
- Preferred: Experience with Bluebeam or Live Count.
- Preferred: Knowledge of electrical or low-voltage construction scopes.
