About the role#
Systems Engineer Co-ops work alongside experienced project teams. You will assist with various tasks across the project lifecycle, with specific responsibilities assigned by the lead engineer based on your capabilities and project needs.
What you'll do#
- Create instrument lists by examining P&ID drawings.
- Compile submittal and procurement documentation for controls and instrument hardware.
- Provide technical support for panel fabrication technicians and inspect completed control enclosures.
- Participate in customer design review meetings.
- Assemble development systems using project hardware and computers.
- Configure user interface and HMI screens.
- Configure DDC, PLC, and DCS control algorithms.
- Draft system documentation from templates.
- Assist with customer demonstrations and acceptance testing.
- Install project software and configuration onto site systems.
- Participate in point-to-point loop checks.
- Perform instrumentation and software calibration and tuning.
- Participate in functional tests of all systems.
- Troubleshoot installation discrepancies and program field modifications.
- Assist with developing commissioning test plans, documentation redlines, and operations training materials.
What you'll need#
- Full-time student status with a GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's program for Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Ability to solve problems and develop solutions.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
