About the role#
Systems Engineer Co-ops join an experienced project team to support building technology projects. You will work under the guidance of a lead engineer, who assigns tasks based on project needs and your individual skills. This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
Your work covers the full lifecycle of a project, from initial design to onsite startup.
- Create instrument lists by reviewing P&ID drawings.
- Compile documentation for controls and instrument hardware procurement.
- Support panel fabrication technicians and inspect completed enclosures.
- Participate in customer design reviews and demonstrations.
- Build development systems using project hardware and computers.
- Configure HMI screens and DDC, PLC, or DCS control algorithms.
- Draft system documentation and update commissioning test plans.
- Install software and configurations at customer sites.
- Perform point-to-point loop checks, calibration, and system tuning.
- Troubleshoot installation issues and program field modifications.
- Help create training materials for system operations and maintenance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's program for Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Full-time student status with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- An interest in problem solving and developing technical solutions.
