About the role#
As an AI Software Engineering Co-op, you will contribute to software development projects focused on artificial intelligence. You will gain hands-on experience building AI-powered solutions designed to improve software quality, security, and engineering efficiency. Throughout the program, you will work alongside experienced software engineers, architects, and AI leaders. You will also be paired with a dedicated mentor to guide your professional development and participate in company networking events.
What you'll do#
- Build software applications, services, and integrations using modern engineering practices and AI technologies.
- Collaborate with development teams in real-world environments.
- Gain exposure to the full software development life cycle, including agile methodology, system design, and test-driven development.
- Work with test automation, build management, and configuration management processes.
- Contribute to projects that support enterprise-scale industrial automation software.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Availability to work full-time for a 6-8 month term, specifically January-August 2027 or June-December 2027.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States. We do not offer sponsorship for this position.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Go, Kotlin, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Familiarity with Generative AI tools, LLMs, AI agents, machine learning concepts, or prompt engineering.
- Experience with modern web frameworks like Angular or React.
- Familiarity with cloud-native technologies, GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, and Azure AI Services.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools, and test automation frameworks.
- Interest in industrial automation software, PLC development, and manufacturing technologies.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time position.
- The role follows a hybrid work schedule based in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, or Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- Employees are expected to be on-site at a Rockwell location on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
