About the role#
As a Commercial Credit Construction Summer Intern, you will gain exposure to commercial construction lending and portfolio management. You will work alongside experienced credit professionals to oversee projects from initial approval through completion. This role involves supporting the daily operations of the Construction Lending team, including monitoring, funding, and administering construction projects throughout their lifecycle.
What you'll do#
- Maintain construction loans within Construct, the bank's cloud-based loan management platform.
- Review loan and construction documentation to support project onboarding and management.
- Update and maintain construction project budgets and related information.
- Participate in the construction requisition and inspection process.
- Manage and distribute department communications and inbox requests.
- Retrieve documentation for audits, reviews, and compliance activities.
- Create reports and summaries to support the Construction Team Manager and department initiatives.
- Ensure construction loan information remains accurate and organized.
- Participate in collaborative summer projects with fellow interns.
What you'll need#
- Rising Junior or Senior status pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Commercial Real Estate, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Professionalism and a willingness to learn.
- Interest in commercial lending, construction finance, or real estate development.
- Experience creating or updating Excel macros is preferred.
- Coursework related to finance, real estate, accounting, project management, or construction is preferred.
