About the role#
Rockland Trust is seeking a summer intern to join the Commercial Banking team in Burlington. This program offers hands-on experience working directly with Relationship Managers and banking professionals. You will gain insight into lending, client relationship management, financial analysis, and business development while contributing to real projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist Relationship Managers with client portfolios, report preparation, and financial analysis.
- Conduct research on industry trends, competitive activity, and client markets.
- Support the loan application process, including documentation, underwriting, and client onboarding.
- Maintain accurate client records and assist with reporting for internal meetings and executive presentations.
- Participate in data analysis projects to support business decisions.
- Attend team meetings and collaborate across departments on various initiatives.
- Conduct targeted research projects to support departmental objectives.
- Participate in customer outreach efforts to identify business opportunities.
- Work alongside experienced banking professionals.
- Partner with fellow interns on a collaborative project to solve a business challenge and present recommendations to leadership.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a rising junior or senior at an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and develop insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and business partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interest in commercial banking, financial services, and business operations.
- Previous internship or work experience in banking, finance, or related fields is preferred.
- Familiarity with credit analysis or financial modeling is preferred.
- A proactive mindset and team-oriented approach is preferred.
