About the role#
The Accounting Intern supports the Accounting Manager and Procurement Director with daily finance activities. You will gain hands-on experience with transactional accounting, month-end processes, and cross-functional financial analysis. This role involves collaborating with finance, procurement, marketing, and operations teams to build a foundation in accounting principles and business operations.
What you'll do#
- Process daily accounting transactions such as sales, refunds, and basic journal entries.
- Perform daily cash reconciliations for all locations, covering cash transfers, checks, ACH, and debit transactions.
- Prepare and enter invoices, expense reports, and month-end accruals.
- Manage the Accounts Payable email inbox.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including documentation and reconciliation.
- Gather data and conduct financial analyses for finance, marketing, operations, and strategy teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting and finance workflows.
- Provide administrative and analytical support for procurement, including new store openings.
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial and company information.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- A basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A willingness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative.
- Familiarity with accounting systems or point-of-sale platforms is a plus.
- Prior experience or coursework in accounting, hospitality, retail, or service industries is a plus.
