About the role#
The Ceres Student Sponsorship Program offers students pursuing careers in skilled trades the opportunity to gain industry experience while completing their education. As a participant, you will combine classroom instruction with hands-on work in our manufacturing facility and shop. You will receive mentorship from experienced professionals and participate in technical training to build the skills necessary for a career in manufacturing and engineering support.
What you'll do#
- Work alongside experienced professionals to build, repair, troubleshoot, and test custom equipment and specialized machinery.
- Assist with projects involving mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, machining, fabrication, or welding tasks based on your field of study.
- Learn industry-leading manufacturing, diagnostic, and repair techniques.
- Participate in technical training and professional development opportunities.
- Develop safe work habits and follow company policies and procedures.
- Represent the company professionally at work, school, and in the community.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or graduation prior to the program start.
- Current enrollment or plans to enroll in an approved Diesel Technology, Welding, Machining, Construction Equipment, Agricultural Equipment, or related skilled trades program.
- Strong mechanical aptitude demonstrated through school, hobbies, work experience, or personal projects.
- An interest in solving problems and working with your hands.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- A strong attendance record, a positive attitude, and a commitment to safety.
- An intention to pursue a long-term career with the company after graduation.
