About the role#
The Ceres Student Sponsorship Program offers students pursuing careers in skilled trades the opportunity to gain industry experience while completing their education. This role combines classroom instruction with hands-on work in a manufacturing facility and shop. Participants receive paid tuition, coverage for books and required fees, and provided tools, alongside mentorship from experienced professionals.
What you'll do#
- Work alongside experienced professionals to build, repair, troubleshoot, and test custom equipment and specialized machinery.
- Assist with mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, machining, fabrication, or welding projects based on your field of study.
- Learn industry-leading manufacturing, diagnostic, and repair techniques.
- Participate in technical training and professional development opportunities.
- Develop safe work habits while following company policies and procedures.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or graduation prior to the program start.
- Current or planned enrollment in an approved Diesel Technology, Welding, Machining, Construction Equipment, Agricultural Equipment, or related skilled trades program.
- Strong mechanical aptitude demonstrated through school, hobbies, work experience, or personal projects.
- Ability to solve problems and work with your hands.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
