About the role#
RESPEC is hiring a Student Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 program. This position is based in our Anchorage or Fairbanks offices. You will work within our Transportation Market Sector alongside full-time employees to learn how we provide professional services to our clients. Our staff will provide mentoring to help you develop your engineering skills. You will engage with clients, visit job sites, and collaborate with our multi-discipline team on public and private sector projects.
What you'll do#

- Gain hands-on experience in engineering consulting.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Surveying Engineering, Geomatics, Geospatial Sciences, or a related field.
- A strong interest in civil infrastructure, geotechnical engineering, or surveying.
- Ability to work safely in both office and field environments.
- Strong computer skills and experience with modern collaboration technologies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- A willingness to learn and contribute to a team.
- Prior experience in engineering, surveying, or construction is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with engineering, CAD, GIS, or data-processing software is helpful.
