About the role#
This internship provides exposure to commercial real estate through hands-on experience in leasing, property operations, construction, and investments. You will work in our Los Angeles office during the summer of 2027. The program lasts approximately 8 weeks and requires a 40-hour work week. You will shadow experienced professionals and complete assigned projects. High-performing interns may be considered for full-time roles after the program concludes.
What you'll do#
- Identify prospective tenants and present opportunities.
- Assist with leasing inquiries, lead sourcing, and maintaining contact databases.
- Conduct market studies, comp reports, and tenant void analysis.
- Research CRM and deal generating platforms.
- Participate in property visits, showings, and tenant meetings.
- Develop merchandising plans for specific shopping centers.
- Work with tenants and vendors under the direction of the Property Management team.
- Evaluate potential acquisition and development opportunities.
- Assist with due diligence and underwriting for new deals.
- Research exterior building materials and monitor construction progress.
- Collaborate with on-site Project and Construction Managers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore or junior at an accredited 4-year college or university.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Interest in commercial real estate.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to learn new software quickly.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day.
- Rising seniors graduating in 2028 are strongly preferred.
- Coursework in Real Estate, Business, or Finance is preferred.
