About the role#
As a Relationship Manager Commercial Markets Intern, you will work within the RBC Commercial Banking platform. This role is a proactive, face-to-face client relationship position based in a Commercial Centre. The internship lasts approximately 28 weeks and includes a mentor to provide coaching throughout your training. You will gain experience in commercial business client services, including accounts, operating services, credit, lending, and deposits through on-the-job training, self-study, and classroom instruction.
What you'll do#
- Deliver value-added financial advice and solutions tailored to client needs.
- Leverage sales enablers such as sales planning, prospecting, and pre-call planning tools.
- Develop and execute a needs-based sales strategy to grow revenue and deepen client relationships.
- Achieve a high standard of client loyalty through a continuous-improvement approach.
- Provide excellent, responsive, and proactive service to business clients.
What you'll need#
- A post-secondary diploma or degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
- Demonstrated sales success, including meeting or exceeding targets, prospecting, and cold calling.
- Experience with financial statement review and computer modeling and analysis.
- Proficiency with emerging communications and technology, including digital banking and web-based meetings.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- An entrepreneurial attitude, self-motivation, and a commitment to continuous learning.
