Relationship Manager, Commercial Financial Services Intern

About the role#

This 9-month internship provides a proactive, face-to-face client relationship experience within the Commercial Banking platform. Based in a Commercial Centre, you will receive on-the-job training supported by a mentor, self-study materials, online courses, and classroom instruction. The role focuses on delivering responsive service to commercial business clients regarding accounts, operating services, credit, lending, and deposits.

What you'll do#

• Deliver value-added financial advice and solutions tailored to client needs.
• Leverage sales-enabling tools, including sales planning, prospecting, and pre-call planning.
• Apply a continuous-improvement approach to deliver a superior client experience.
• Develop and execute needs-based sales strategies to grow revenue, deepen client relationships, and ensure client loyalty.

What you'll need#

• A post-secondary diploma or degree, ideally in commerce, business administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in commercial lending and previous banking experience in a relationship management role.
• Demonstrated success in business development, specifically in client acquisition, prospecting, and cold calling.
• Experience with financial statement review and computer modeling.
• Proficiency with emerging communications and technology, including web-based meetings, digital banking, and mobile applications.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, an entrepreneurial attitude, and a commitment to continuous learning.
