About the role#
As a Financial Advisor Intern, you will attract, nurture, and grow relationships with high-value personal and small business clients. You will provide proactive, professional advice and collaborate with internal partners to help clients achieve their goals during key life events. This role requires expertise across everyday banking, investments, and credit.
What you'll do#
- Demonstrate empathy and take the time to understand client circumstances, motivators, and concerns.
- Communicate effectively to uncover client needs, deliver client-centric advice, and resolve concerns at the first point of contact.
- Provide professional advice and education regarding complex credit and investment solutions.
- Champion digital enablement by educating clients on self-service options and encouraging them to interact through their preferred channels.
- Collaborate with market-leading professionals in financial planning, retirement planning, mortgages, and business banking to ensure clients receive customized expert advice.
- Implement relationship-building strategies to support new client acquisition and retention in the local community.
What you'll need#
- Valid Mutual Funds accreditation (Investment Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course).
- Completed Designated Financial Services Advisor (DFSA) designation.
- 2-3 years of proven sales experience in the financial services industry, specifically handling credit and investments.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Digital literacy across a broad range of devices, including smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
- Pursuing or holding a degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Economics.
