Field Engineering Intern

About the role#

R.T. Moore is seeking Field Engineering interns for a rolling, full-time, paid internship. This role provides students with hands-on experience in the construction industry, including mentorship from a Field Engineer and the opportunity to earn an OSHA 10-hour certificate. Work is performed on-site and involves both indoor and outdoor responsibilities.

What you'll do#

• Support Field Engineers, Project Managers, and Field Superintendents with daily operations.
• Assist with project layout by applying Trimble knowledge.
• Interpret engineering drawings and provide field assistance.
• Conduct material take-offs and estimating.
• Review project drawings and coordinate design changes.
• Assist with project coordination and safety initiatives.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a 4-year Engineering or Construction Management program.
• Strong work ethic and a self-motivated approach to learning.
• Ability to solve problems independently.
• Positive attitude and detail-oriented mindset.
• Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and environments, including loud or confined spaces.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing, balancing, and lifting up to 50 pounds while wearing required personal protective equipment.
