About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to apply academic knowledge to the intersection of government affairs and communications. Interns will develop professional skills in project oversight, time management, and client service while gaining experience in a professional office environment.
What you'll do#
- Deliver daily news updates on clients to firm members every morning.
- Determine relevant news articles for client needs.
- Perform in-depth policy research, including tracking Federal legislation, regulations, and Congressional actions.
- Identify, research, and track political trends.
- Assist with planning and scheduling congressional meetings and other events.
- Draft materials such as op-eds, letters to the editor, and press statements for brand advocacy clients.
- Attend Congressional briefings and networking events.
- Assist with special projects and provide feedback on process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current college student with a minimum 3.0 GPA or a recent college graduate.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining professional ethics regarding confidential information.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and execute work in a professional manner.
- Majors in Political Science, Communications, Business Administration, or Public Health are preferred.
