About the role#
R.D. Offutt Farms and Syngenta are partnering to offer a hands-on internship for students pursuing a career in agriculture. You will work with industry experts and university professors to gain experience in potato production, ranging from seed development to raw product processing. This role involves field work, data collection, and the completion of an individual agronomy project that you will present to leadership.
What you'll do#
- Assist with crop development, including insect, weed, and disease scouting.
- Conduct soil and petiole sampling.
- Solve field agronomy problems.
- Complete an individual agronomy project and present your findings to leadership.
- Maintain a clean work area and care for tools, machines, and equipment.
- Communicate solutions and project progress to management and team members.
- Follow all safety rules, company policies, and procedures.
- Represent R.D. Offutt Farms and Syngenta professionally.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an approved agriculture program.
- A valid driver license.
- Strong computer skills and excellent customer service abilities.
- Ability to assemble and perform maintenance on equipment.
- A history of maintaining an acceptable GPA and attendance.
- Previous agriculture experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- You must provide transcripts to management after each quarter or semester.

- Location: Perham, Minnesota.
- This is an on-site, part-time position.
- The internship term is rolling.
