About the role#
This internship is a partnership between R.D. Offutt Farms and Syngenta designed for students pursuing a career in agriculture. You will gain hands-on experience in a vertically integrated farming operation, covering the process from seed production to raw product processing. You will work alongside industry experts from R.D. Offutt Farms, Syngenta, and university faculty to address real-world challenges in the potato industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist with crop development, including insect, weed, and disease scouting.
- Conduct soil and petiole sampling.
- Complete an individual agronomy project and present your findings to leadership.
- Maintain a clean work area and care for all tools and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with management and team members to identify solutions.
- Participate in training through Syngenta resources.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an approved agriculture program with an acceptable GPA.
- Strong computer skills.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid work authorization in the United States without the need for company sponsorship.
