About the role#
As an Infrastructure Intern at Quad, you will support the daily operations of our IT infrastructure and operations teams. You will work within technical groups such as Network, Telecom, Security, and Compute platforms. Throughout the internship, you will rotate through several teams to gain exposure to various technologies, including Windows and Linux server platforms, virtual compute, network infrastructure, and security tools like firewalls and SIEM products. You will receive mentorship from experienced team members and partner with a manager to focus on your professional development.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the daily operation and support of IT infrastructure.
- Gain increasing responsibilities as you demonstrate your abilities under the direction of experienced team members.
- Apply classroom knowledge to real-world technical projects.
- Collaborate with team members to install, support, and optimize infrastructure environments.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, MIS, or a related field.
- General knowledge of or interest in infrastructure systems such as Microsoft Windows OS, Linux, virtualization, Active Directory, Group Policy, and IT security.
- Experience troubleshooting PC hardware and software issues.
- Familiarity with scripting or programming languages like Python, PowerShell, or VB script.
- A natural curiosity for using technology to solve business problems.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position based in Sussex, Wisconsin.
- The role is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
