About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based in Greensboro, North Carolina. You will join our Advanced Cellular business group to work on real projects that support our cellular and Wi-Fi applications. This role is on-site and follows a rolling schedule.
What you'll do#
- Develop solutions for cellular and Wi-Fi applications ranging from 700 MHz to 7 GHz.
- Conduct architectural and feasibility studies, design, simulation, and layout of various RF circuit blocks.
- Perform active and passive circuit design along with linear and nonlinear RF simulations.
- Learn our internal IC design flow from the schematic level to a fully assembled circuit.
- Present your results and take part in design reviews.
- Work in the lab with applications engineers to characterize and optimize RF circuits.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. (senior year), M.S., or Ph.D. program in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- A strong background in RF/microwave circuit design, analog circuits, and electromagnetics.
- Proficiency with simulation tools like ADS, Cadence, and HFSS.
- Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
- Experience designing RFIC/MMIC circuit blocks such as PAs, LNAs, switches, couplers, filters, and attenuators.
- Familiarity with GaAs, SiGe, or SOI/CMOS technologies.
- Experience with PCB or passive component design.
- Ability to use RF/microwave test equipment including signal generators, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
- Programming and data analysis skills in tools such as Python, MATLAB, JMP, Spotfire, or ADS AEL.
- Published authorship in technical journals or conferences is a plus.
