About the role#
Public Outreach is hiring fundraisers to represent nonprofit organizations focused on humanitarian aid, human rights, and social impact. This is an active, face-to-face role that involves speaking with members of the public to build support for important causes. You will work alongside a team to raise awareness and invite people to become recurring monthly donors. No previous fundraising experience is required, as we provide paid training and ongoing coaching.
What you'll do#
- Start conversations with people you have never met.
- Learn about the specific nonprofit campaign you are representing.
- Share stories and explain why the issue matters.
- Listen to people, answer their questions, and build connections.
- Ask people to become recurring monthly donors.
- Work alongside a fundraising team.
- Practice your approach and receive regular coaching.
- Work toward clear fundraising goals.
What you'll need#
- You must be 18 years or older.
- You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Ability to communicate confidently in English.
- Comfort working outdoors, standing, and walking for your shift.
- Comfort starting conversations with members of the public.
- Willingness to do both street and door-to-door fundraising.
- Openness to receiving coaching and working toward goals.

- Location: Brooklyn, New York.
- Work modality: On-site.
- This is a full-time position with rolling start dates.
- The role is paid, with a guaranteed hourly wage of $20 per hour.
