About the role#
The Nursing Assistant Student role is an educational position focused on learning basic care skills for elders. You will follow practices established by a State approved Nurse Aide Training Program. This position supports the daily operations of the Lodge by assisting with dining, housekeeping, and non-essential nursing tasks during peak times. You will work directly with elders, their families, and our staff.
What you'll do#
- Learn and apply elder care skills through a state-approved training program.
- Help maintain a clean environment within the Lodge.
- Transport elders as needed.
- Assist with meal preparation and set up.
- Lead or provide meaningful activities for residents.
- Act as an elder companion to promote safety when direct observation is required.
What you'll need#
- You must complete Green House Philosophy of Care, Caring Reliably, Culinary training, ServSafe, and Dining Assistance training within four months of your start date.
- You must obtain American Heart Association National Provider BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
- Previous experience as a nursing aide, nursing assistant, or personal care attendant for at least 6 months is preferred.

- This position is located in Seward, Alaska.
- The role is full time and on-site.
- This is a paid position with a rolling term.
