About the role#
Printpack is hiring a Process Engineer Co-Op for the spring term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site role based in Newport News, Virginia. You will work directly with our engineering teams to support daily manufacturing operations and product development.
What you'll do#
- Support daily operations and product development activities.
- Perform process definition (PD) audits, file PDs, and consult with specialists and engineers on updates.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on safety, scrap reduction, and increased productivity.
- Assist with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and testing prototypes.
- Work on design reviews by cross-referencing dimensions and analyzing data.
- Help implement new quality tests, including designing fixtures and gauges.
- Create Job Breakdowns and One Point Lessons to support training efforts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Engineering degree program, specifically Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to manage your time well.
- Experience with statistical analysis and data collection.
