About the role#
Residential Student Technicians support the daily operations of the Office of Housing and Residence Life. You will help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for residents, guests, faculty, and staff. This position involves a variety of tasks across housing operations, community desks, and event support.
What you'll do#
- Provide customer service to students and visitors.
- Handle front desk operations, office coverage, and administrative tasks.
- Answer phones, emails, and general housing inquiries.
- Assist with residence hall move-in and move-out processes.
- Support educational, social, and departmental events, including set-up and tear-down.
- Report maintenance, safety, or operational concerns to professional staff.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow FERPA and university policies.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Prairie View A&M University.
- Eligibility for Federal Work-Study.
- A minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA and good disciplinary standing.
- Ability to work up to 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A dependable and professional approach to your work.

- Position is located in Prairie View, Texas.
- This is an on-site, part-time role.
