About the role#
Polaris Rx is looking for a Pharmacist Intern to join our team in Covina. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term. You will work on-site and provide coverage during evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation of new and refill prescriptions.
- Verify the accuracy of medication packaging and labeling, including IV medications and emergency drug kits.
- Maintain resident databases with medical history, lab data, and current medication lists.
- Handle, receive, and document controlled substances.
- Receive verbal orders from prescribers under pharmacist supervision.
- Issue Emergency Drug Kit Authorizations for controlled medication removal.
- Answer drug-related questions from staff and customers.
- Document communications with healthcare providers and patients in medical records.
- Prepare sterile IV drug products.
- Participate in Preferred Product and Therapeutic Interchange programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a pharmacy school.
- A valid Intern Pharmacist license as defined by the State Board of Pharmacy.
