Software Engineer Intern - Robotics

About the role#

Plus is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join the Robotics team for a Summer 2026 internship. This role focuses on bringing up and validating a fully redundant system for the internal fleet, specifically working within driver-by-wire software and hardware and runtime infrastructure.

What you'll do#

• Develop fallback mechanisms for redundant actuation systems, including system state monitoring, fault handling, and actuator activation.
• Design and implement internal protocols on embedded systems to ensure communication and synchronization between redundant compute systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test cases for redundancy-related features and participate in closed-course testing.
• Establish and maintain CI pipelines to enable automated testing on redundancy-related software nodes.
• Improve and optimize the integration of Teleops and Offboard systems to ensure seamless operation and compatibility.

What you'll need#

• Experience in robotics or mechatronics system integration.
• Proficiency in C++ and familiarity with Simulink.
• Experience with embedded systems, Linux CLI, and ROS.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts and collaborate across teams.
• A commitment to quality work, reliability, and a proactive approach to meeting project goals.
• Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
