About the role#
We are looking for inquisitive interns to join our engineering teams. You will work alongside mentors, product designers, and backend engineers to learn how large-scale systems operate. You will use AI-assisted tools to help build new technologies and features. Expect real projects and opportunities to explore ideas that make a difference for our teams and Pinners.
What you'll do#
- Demonstrate accountability and quality in your work with guidance from your manager and peers.
- Execute scoped technical tasks end-to-end.
- Deliver code that is well-documented, tested, and operable.
- Use AI tools in your daily workflow to brainstorm, write, and refine code.
- Communicate ideas with candor.
- Collaborate with your team on projects that impact the platform.
- Engage with employees and leaders across the company.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- On track to graduate by June 2029.
- Understanding of computer science fundamentals, such as data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with one or more programming languages like Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or C++.
- Familiarity with frameworks such as React.
- Non-academic coding experience, such as personal projects, hackathons, or open source contributions.
- Ability to use AI as a learning and engineering tool while exercising judgment.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to learn.
- Passion for Pinterest.
Location & details#
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Location: San Francisco, California, or remote within the United States.
- Work Modality: Hybrid or remote. Hybrid roles require in-office collaboration approximately 1 to 2 times per week for those within a commutable distance.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship with a monthly salary range of $8,250 to $11,000.
- Employment Type: Full-time.
