About the role#
As a Machine Learning Intern, you will work on challenges in machine learning and artificial intelligence. You will join engineering teams to navigate growth and scale while building features and experiences. This is a 12-week paid internship. You will be considered for multiple intern roles across our various ML teams.
What you'll do#
- Lead your own project from start to finish.
- Contribute to research in machine learning and artificial intelligence applied to our platform.
- Gain hands-on experience with production ML systems, including infrastructure, data engineering, training, and inference.
- Leverage AI tools and agents to speed up prototyping and experimentation.
- Validate AI-generated outputs through testing, code review, and critical thinking.
- Use AI to investigate bugs, summarize technical context, and understand unfamiliar code.
- Write clean, efficient, and sustainable code.
- Take ownership over the quality and completion of your tasks.
What you'll need#
- Currently working towards a Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience in machine learning areas such as ranking, computer vision, NLP, content recommendations, or information retrieval.
- Mastery of at least one systems language like Java, C++, or Python.
- Mastery of one ML framework such as Tensorflow, Pytorch, or MLFlow.
- Proficiency with AI-native engineering and the design of agent-friendly codebases.
- High degree of autonomy in learning new agent-first development tools.
- Strong critical thinking skills when evaluating AI-generated suggestions.
- Comfort iterating on prompts and refining workflows.
- Experience in research and solving analytical, open-ended problems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Start dates: May 17, 2027, or June 14, 2027.
- Modality: Remote or hybrid, depending on the team.
- Locations: San Francisco, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Seattle, WA; or New York, NY.
- Compensation: $11,000 monthly.
