About the role#
Pike Engineering is looking for a Student Intern to support civil and structural engineering initiatives. This is a paid, full-time position based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The role operates on a rolling basis and requires on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
You will assist with various engineering projects and operational tasks. Responsibilities include:
- Managing small capital or expense projects.
- Creating project schedules, milestones, and deliverables using Microsoft Project.
- Maintaining spreadsheets and databases.
- Drafting operational and maintenance training documentation.
- Preparing project savings and justification reports.
- Assisting with engineering issue resolution.
- Handling clerical tasks such as document creation, review, and filing.
- Managing project spending documentation.
- Completing special assignments as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Proficiency with computers and the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage complex tasks and conflicting priorities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A self-motivated and customer-oriented approach.
