About the role#
Creative News Interns join the BRC13 news team to learn the practical skills required for roles in reporting, anchoring, producing, and copywriting. This is a paid, part-time position based in our Lehighton studio for the Fall 2026 term. Interns work weekdays between 9:30 AM and 6:00 PM, with schedules ranging from two to five days per week based on availability and college requirements.
What you'll do#
- Accompany reporters on assignments and videographers in the field.
- Conduct interviews and research stories.
- Write news stories and contribute ideas to daily news meetings.
- Edit video and organize graphics for newscasts.
- Operate teleprompters or studio cameras for live broadcasts.
- Handle beat calls and other assigned production duties.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one year of college.
- Majors in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, Business Administration, or English.
- Strong writing, video editing, and production skills.
- Established residency in Pennsylvania.
- A valid PA driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
