About the role#
The Fall Creative News Internship at Pencor Services, Inc. provides students with hands-on experience in broadcast media production. Interns join the BRC13 news team to learn the practical skills required for roles such as news reporter, anchor, producer, copywriter, or field producer. This is a paid, part-time, on-site position based in Lehighton, Pennsylvania, for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Accompany reporters and videographers on assignments.
- Research and write news stories.
- Conduct interviews in the field.
- Participate in daily news meetings and contribute story ideas.
- Perform beat calls.
- Operate studio equipment including the teleprompter and studio cameras for live newscasts.
- Organize graphics for newscasts.
- Edit video content.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one year of college.
- Preferred majors include Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Business Administration, or English.
- Strong writing, video editing, and production skills.
- Established residency in Pennsylvania.
- A valid Pennsylvania driver's license and a good driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug testing.
Location & details#
- Location: Lehighton, Pennsylvania.
- Schedule: Weekdays, with shifts typically between 9:30 am and 6:00 pm. The number of days worked per week is flexible based on college requirements and availability.
- Compensation: $10.00 per hour.
- Note: Interns will not work in an on-air capacity.
