About the role#

This internship provides hands-on experience within the Food and Beverage department at Pearl River Resort. Interns rotate through various areas to understand the full operational life cycle of the department, gaining insights into how different functions contribute to the growth of the resort. This is an on-site, rolling term position.

What you'll do#

• Rotate through different department areas to learn specific responsibilities.
• Work alongside area experts to gain practical experience in front-of-house or culinary and kitchen duties.
• Participate in daily training sessions to familiarize yourself with team duties and areas of expertise.
• Learn the principles of guest service within the hospitality industry.
• Maintain a consistent and regular attendance record.
• Contribute to a safe work environment by following safety guidelines and reporting potential hazards.

What you'll need#

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Currently entering your Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year of college, or a recent college graduate.
• Ability to stand and walk for 100% of an assigned shift, including periods in excess of 8 hours.
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
• Majors in Business Administration, Marketing, Civil Engineering, or Human Resources are preferred.

• Environment: The work environment includes exposure to moderate noise levels, with louder noise and tobacco smoke present when working on the casino floor.
