About the role#
PCL Construction is hiring an Estimating Student for the Kelowna office. This is a full-time, paid position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site under the direct supervision of an estimator to support our construction projects.
What you'll do#
- Use PCL estimating manuals, systems, and forms.
- Review quantity survey assignments with the lead or Chief Estimator.
- Perform quantity surveys and transfer data to the lead estimator.
- Provide quantities of major purchase items to the purchasing department for pricing.
- Manage bid document control and handle bid day assignments.
- Perform subtrade solicitation and build relationships with subcontractors.
- Visit job sites periodically.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the Chief Estimator.
What you'll need#
- A strong desire to work in a construction environment.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and drafting software.
- Prior field construction experience is an asset.
- Enrollment in Civil Engineering or a related major.
