About the role#
As an Estimating Student in Phoenix, you will work with experienced estimators to analyze project opportunities and develop cost estimates. This role helps shape the pursuit of projects that support the local community.
What you'll do#
- Review and perform quantity survey assignments with a lead estimator.
- Handle general sub-trade solicitation duties.
- Manage bid document control and perform bid day assignments.
- Review and recap sub-trade bids.
- Visit job sites periodically.
- Use in-house BEST Estimating software.
- Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Pursuit of an associate or bachelor degree in Construction Management, Architectural Drafting and Estimating Technology, or a related field.
- A goal to build a career in Estimating, Field Supervision, or Project Management.
- Ability to read drawings and specifications and perform quantity take offs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for working with project personnel, owners, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Experience with software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, On-Screen Takeoff, Revit, or Acrobat.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

- Location: Phoenix, Arizona.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May to August).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Employment is full time and paid. Note that this role requires availability to work in Los Angeles, California during the specified term. Employment is contingent upon passing a substance abuse test.
