About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Winter 2027. You will work on-site in Madison, Mississippi, supporting Value Stream Managers and Manufacturing Engineers. The role focuses on implementing lean activities and projects to improve manufacturing processes.
What you'll do#
- Design fixtures using 3D modeling in AutoCAD Inventor.
- Create detailed drawings for your designs.
- Purchase necessary hardware.
- Collaborate with machinists to fabricate simple fixturing.
- Develop standard work and visual aids.
- Learn troubleshooting methods for valve test equipment and simple fixtures.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Completion of foundational engineering coursework.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a professional demeanor.
- Clear verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to listen actively and adapt to new challenges.
Preferred qualifications include experience with engineering tools, campus leadership roles, and previous work on team-based projects or in manufacturing environments.
