About the role#
We are looking for an Engineering Intern to join our Hydraulic Valve Systems Division in Elyria, Ohio. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position starting in Winter 2027.
What you'll do#
- Use specifications, sketches, and drawings to produce detailed Computer Assisted Drafting (CAD) files.
- Create drawing numbers and Engineering Change Notices (ECN) under supervision.
- Revise drawings based on customer and project instructions.
- Create serial production quality final drawings and update older drawings to current standards.
- Layout 2D, 3D, and isometric views that show component functional relationships.
- Create bills of material and add required notes to drawings.
- Archive, file, and electronically save all drawings.
- Locate reference documents, legacy files, and manufacturing standards such as ASME, ISO, ANSI, ASTM, and OSHA.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- Proficiency with current versions of 2D, 3D, Windows, and MS Office software.
- Familiarity with dimensioning concepts like print-to-scale, model spacing, and paper spacing.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
- Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read a standard tape measure.
- Experience solving practical problems with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to work in a schedule-driven, team environment.
