About the role#
Parker Center Animal Clinic offers an externship program for veterinary students to gain practical experience in a clinical setting. This program supports your transition from the classroom to professional practice by allowing you to work alongside our veterinary team. You will be assigned a mentor to help you meet your educational goals and complete any required evaluations for your college program.
What you'll do#
- Gather patient histories and perform physical examinations.
- Develop diagnostic and therapeutic plans for small animal cases.
- Scrub in to surgery and assist in managing medical cases.
- Provide wellness care to patients.
- Develop client communication skills and refine technical abilities.
- Produce accurate medical records and SOAPs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited DVM program.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Professional liability insurance, with a submitted certificate of coverage.
- A professional attitude and adherence to the Veterinary Practice Act.
Location & details#
- Location: Parker, Colorado.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Rolling, with flexible durations ranging from two to eight weeks.
- Compensation: A weekly stipend of $250 is provided.
