About the role#
This summer internship offers undergraduate and graduate students hands-on experience within the Property and Casualty insurance industry. You will receive training on actuarial concepts and apply them to meaningful projects while learning how the team contributes to company success. The program runs from June to August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assess the adequacy of the company loss reserves.
- Project the profitability of company products.
- Quantify risk exposure and propose ways to minimize it.
- Perform actuarial and market research alongside statistical analyses.
- Create tools and reports to support team objectives.
- Collaborate with fellow interns and team members.
- Present an overview of your internship projects at the end of the program.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a junior, senior, or graduate student at an accredited college or university.
- Pursuit of a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Economics, or Finance.
- Minimum of 8 weeks availability.
- Exceptional grade point average.
- Passion for professional growth within the department.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Preference for candidates who have passed at least one actuarial exam.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Edina, Minnesota.
- The position is a full-time, paid internship at $25 per hour.
- We operate in a hybrid work environment, requiring at least 3 days per week in the office.
