About the role#
This technical internship offers students and early career professionals hands-on experience within the insurance industry. You will join one of our technical departments, such as Data & Analytics, Product Management, Software Engineering, or Technology Operations, for a 9-week program. You will contribute to projects that support our growth as a Property & Casualty insurer.
What you'll do#
- Support the development, testing, or maintenance of reports, dashboards, data models, or product features.
- Assist with automation, tooling, or process-improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and analytics teams on system or product enhancements.
- Perform data validation, quality assurance, and analysis to support business decisions.
- Document technical processes, standards, and definitions.
- Present findings, recommendations, or product updates to stakeholders.
- Complete and present an overview of your internship project at the end of the program.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate (junior or senior year) or graduate student.
- Preferred majors include Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum of 8 weeks availability, with the option to expand to 10 weeks.
- A strong academic record with an exceptional grade point average.
- Preference for candidates who have passed at least one actuarial exam.
- A genuine interest in growing within a specific technical department.
Location & details#
- Locations: La Jolla, California; Edina, Minnesota; or Chicago, Illinois.
- Modality: This is a hybrid role. You will be required to work in the office for a minimum of 3 days per week.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June through August).
- Compensation: This is a paid, full-time hourly position at $19 per hour.
- Note: We do not offer visa sponsorship for this role.
