About the role#
The Purchasing Intern joins the Global Procurement Supply Chain (GPSC) team at Oshkosh Corporation. This position provides support across purchasing and sourcing functions, focusing on data management, supplier relations, and process efficiency. This is a part-time, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Setup and maintain existing suppliers in the Pierce database.
- Prepare weekly reports for department leads to support decision-making.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to gather part drawings and technical information.
- Develop relationships with suppliers to obtain part number cross-references.
- Serve as a liaison between the GPSC and Engineering teams to provide updated drawings to suppliers.
- Process internal purchasing requests for non-inventory parts and services.
- Complete tax-exempt certificates as needed.
- Assist team members with mass price updates in the company ERP system.
- Gather data to help track estimated arrival dates and annual usage.
- Support internal training for the new Supplier Portal.
- Assist with department improvement projects and manage past due orders or critical shortages.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Business Administration or a related field for the duration of the internship.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Willingness to travel or relocate to Murfreesboro, TN for the Summer of 2026.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and handle multiple responsibilities.
