About the role#
The Product Safety Engineer Intern supports the Product Safety department by working on projects across the full product life cycle. You will work alongside safety professionals to research regulations and provide solutions. This role involves building relationships with departments such as Engineering, Compliance, Service, and Marketing.
What you'll do#
- Research standards and regulations for new and existing products.
- Evaluate products and features to determine content for manuals and warning decals.
- Collaborate with advanced technology teams to assess autonomy solutions for relevant regulations and applications.
- Research safe use and modification inquiries for customer support.
- Prepare technical documentation including Field Service Bulletins and Service Information.
- Attend cross-functional meetings with Training, Service, Technical Publications, and Marketing teams.
- Support team processes to maintain alignment with improvement activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Engineering or a related field.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Knowledge of construction or agricultural equipment.
- Education or experience in electro-mechanical or mechatronics systems.
- Prior experience in Product Safety, Compliance, Reliability, or Improvement Engineering.
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- A willingness to learn tools and processes for problem solving and continuous improvement.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Frederick, Maryland.
- The role is primarily performed in an office environment requiring standard computer and communication tasks.
