About the role#
As a CSE Engineering Intern at JLG, you will support the Customer Support Engineering team. You will work on a variety of projects ranging from routine tasks to complex analytical assignments. This role provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers in the motor vehicle manufacturing industry.
What you'll do#
- Design, model, and test new mechanical systems.
- Research and execute continuous improvement requests.
- Prepare, revise, and review vehicle component layouts using CAD software.
- Create and manage Engineering Change Notices.
- Update bills of materials in the PDM system.
- Follow projects on the assembly floor for prototype, pilot, or production builds.
- Generate engineering calculations for weight distribution, stress analysis, and performance.
- Consult with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to solve problems.
- Assist in the testing of complete vehicles or specific components.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for mechanical engineering or a related field.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in mechanical design.
- Understanding of basic steel and sheet metal fabrication principles.
- Familiarity with the construction industry and related equipment.
- Experience with CAD systems such as Creo Parametric, Pro-E, or CATIA.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Previous internship or work-related experience.
- Participation in extracurricular activities like SAE teams.

- This is an on-site, full-time internship based in Orrville, Ohio.
- The position operates on a rolling basis.
